Responding to your PDP Will Veevers 20 August 2021 08:33 Updated When your reviewer creates your PDP, they can submit it to you for feedback. This allows you to download the report, check it, and agree or disagree with its contents. Please Note: By default, submitting for feedback is optional and your reviewer can choose to skip this entirely and move the review straight into Active (at the start of the cycle) or Closed (at the end of the cycle). Quick Steps From your homepage dashboard, select the Reviews tab Click Give Feedback to open the PDP Click Draft PDP to download the full contents of your PDP Once you have read it, mark the PDP as Accurate or Inaccurate Complete the fields where necessary and click Send Feedback. Need More Detailed Help? There are two possible stages when you are required to provide feedback. One is if the reviewer submits the report for feedback in order to activate it and the other is if the reviewer submits it for feedback in order to close it, at the end of the year. Responding to a Review (Draft to Active) Once your reviewer has completed your PDP, if they submit it for feedback, you will be notified via email. You'll also see this banner on your dashboard when you log in to Perspective. To give feedback, either click on the link in that notification or click on your Reviews tab on your dashboard. You should then see your review, with a status of Pending Feedback. Click the Give Feedback button to proceed. You are then taken into a read-only version of your review, with targets, CPD and other evidence listed on the left. In order to see your review in full, click the Draft PDP option under the This Year heading. This will download your PDP as a PDF, which you can then view. Once you have read it, go back into Perspective and mark the review as Accurate or Inaccurate, by clicking the relevant button across the bottom. For either option, you will be given an opportunity to provide a PDP statement that will appear in your report. This may be just a message to say that you are happy with the contents of the review, or it may be something more in-depth. You are also provided with a separate box to give feedback to your reviewer. This won't appear on the report, so it could be something you want to discuss with them, that you don't want to be included in the final document. Complete the fields where necessary and click Send Feedback. If you marked the PDP as Accurate, it will be moved into the Active stage and you can begin updating it, see this guide for more information. If you marked the PDP as Inaccurate, then it will remain in Draft, under a subheading of Not Agreed. Your reviewer will then need to log in and review your comments, before making changes and moving it into Active or re-submitting it for feedback. This guide explains more about how they do that. If a review is submitted to a reviewee and they do not give feedback within 30 days, the review will automatically move to the Active stage. Reviewees are sent an email to alert them 7 days prior to the auto-activating occurring. Responding to a Review (Active to Closed) The process of responding to a review in the Active to Closed stage is exactly the same as before, however, this time you are giving feedback on the full appraisal cycle, including what the reviewer has added into the Review Statements and Pay Notes sections. To review these, once again, navigate to your Homepage, click the Reviews tab and then click Give Feedback alongside the relevant review to open it. You can check the Review Statements and Pay Notes specifically by clicking the Review Statements and Pay Notes sections within the End of Year Review section. You can also view the full PDF document as before, by clicking Agreed PDP under the This Year heading. This will download your PDP in full, so you can check that you are happy with the contents. Once done, head back into Perspective and click the Accurate or Inaccurate button accordingly. For either option, you will be given an opportunity to provide/edit a PDP statement that will appear in your report. If you marked the PDP as Accurate, it will be moved into the Closed stage and the appraisal cycle is complete! If you marked the PDP as Inaccurate, then it will remain in Closing, under a subheading of Not Agreed. Your reviewer will then need to log in and review your comments, before making changes and moving it into Closed or re-submitting it for feedback. This guide explains more about how they do that. If a review is submitted to a reviewee and they do not give feedback within 30 days, the review will automatically move to the Closed stage. Reviewees are sent an email to alert them 7 days prior to the auto-closing occurring.
