When completing the appraisal cycle, by default the reviewer will have the option to skip the process of sending a review to the reviewee for feedback.
Whether you're meeting with the reviewee face to face or you're confident that everything has been documented, skipping feedback quickly lets you move a review into active (if at the start of the year) or closed (if you're at the end of the year cycle). This saves the need for the reviewee to have to log in and mark things as accurate.
It also allows you to push the review into active or closed if the reviewee is unavailable or has left, so you don't face any blockers.
Please note: Skipping feedback is optional by default, but your headteacher can turn this off completely, or set it to be mandatory. If you don't have the option to skip feedback, or you want your reviewee to give feedback but can't send it to them, please contact your headteacher.
Skipping Feedback in the Draft Stage
When you have completed the review and are happy with the content, you can choose to submit the document to your reviewee or skip the feedback entirely.
To skip the feedback, tick the Skip feedback & activate PDP box, the green button will then change to an Activate the PDP option, click this.
You will then have chance to confirm this. Once done, the review will move straight into the Active stage.
Skipping Feedback in the Active Stage
When you come to close the review, you again have the opportunity to skip feedback and send it straight to closed, or give your reviewee a chance to see it beforehand.
Follow the exact same steps as above but, this time, the option will say Skip feedback & close the Review. Tick that box and then click Close the Review to proceed.
Once confirmed, you will be presented with the closing review screen which lets you schedule next year's review and pull any outstanding targets across. For more information on this, please see this guide.
