General Administration Will Veevers 28 March 2019 16:07 Updated There are several tweaks and changes that you can make within your account via the Settings area of the system. We will go through some of the more specific changes that can be made in this guide. Click on Settings (the cog icon) on your main Perspective toolbar. When you land on the page, you will notice several options available to you. You can find out more details about your account settings, logo, users and teams in their individual guides. The other options are explained below: Terminology Preferences Allows you to customise key terms and phrases within Perspective. This is especially handy if your school use specific terminology and you want this to be reflected within Perspective, for example, using the word Objective instead of Target. To change a term, simply replace the existing text in the Your Term box and then click Save. Perspective will then be updated and that new terminology will replace the old one throughout the system. Manage Planning Themes Themes are little flags that we can use to mark targets & actions as belonging to a particular aspect or focus of your improvement path. You can use filters to identify planning activity by theme. To add a new theme, click the Add New Theme button and then complete the name and description, then click Save. Themes are really useful if you want to quickly find out what is happening across your establishment in a certain area that cuts across many targets, actions and plans. Edit Term Dates Terms are used in the Performance Management module to schedule observations and CPD/Training. To edit term dates, click on to the edit button next to each term. Perspective assumes that the school will have 3 terms, if you have more or less terms, you can either add or delete terms from this page. To add a new term, click the Add New School Term option. You then just need to populate the fields and click add when done. Edit CPD Categories CPD categories are a way to group various CPD requirements together, allowing a CPD or training coordinator to have an overview of the training needs for all staff for the coming year. Perspective has pre-populated the system with some default CPD categories. You may want to add your own or delete some of the default ones – you can do both of these things from here. To add a new CPD category, click Add New CPD Category. To remove an existing category, click delete. Edit Performance Management Guidance This is where the Headteacher can enter the Performance Management Guidance that is seen by all reviewers as they complete their reviews. Perspective contains generic guidance in here although you may want to customise this to reflect specific topics which affect your school. Common additions are suggestions of structure or topics for the review. To make changes to the guidance, simply edit the text and then click Save. Edit Smart Text Box Entries This page allows you to edit or merge any smart text box entries that have been created as a result of your school recording lesson observations. If any staff have saved a record using a new focus, topic, lesson, group or year, then they will be listed under the relevant tab on this page. You can select an item from the list and then edit it using the right hand side of the page, or you can merge multiple items that you believe should be the same entry. For example, you have a Lesson titled Shape and space and another titled Shape & space. You know these are the same lesson, but they have been recorded slightly differently. You can select both of them and then merge them under either existing entry name, or you can create a new entry to merge them into.
