Perspective gives you two powerful ways to explore Professional Standards data:
-
Analysis – a broad overview that lets you filter, break down, and export standards data across templates, categories, teams, or individuals.
-
User Trends / Trend Exports – a deeper dive into how a staff member’s performance changes over time, helping you spot growth, consistency, or concerns.
Together, these tools provide both the big picture and the individual story behind performance.
1. Analysis – the broad overview
From Perf Mgmt > Analysis in the Professional Standards panel, you can quickly see and export performance standards data across your school.
Here’s what you can do:
-
Apply flexible filters – Narrow your search by template, staff category, person, date, or answer set. This allows you to compare different groups or drill into specific areas.
-
View on-screen insights – Choose between:
-
Latest Standards by User
-
Latest Standards
-
User Trends (snapshot view)
-
-
See detailed breakdowns – Use the arrows to expand a staff member’s grades, or hover over the speech bubble to read notes/comments linked to their standards statements.
Why it’s useful: This is your go-to for a trust-wide view or to generate quick, targeted snapshots for leadership discussions.
When you’re ready, click Export:
-
Excel gives you the raw dataset for deeper analysis.
-
Image or PDF provides a clean, shareable snapshot of what you see on-screen.
User Trends – understanding performance over time
While Analysis shows you the overview, User Trends zooms in on an individual’s progress.
-
Each point on the graph shows their performance at that time.
-
Diamond markers mean a note was added to explain the result (e.g. “long-term absence” or “impact of CPD”).
-
Circle markers mean no note was recorded.
Why it’s powerful: This view helps you see not just what changed, but why — giving context to dips, improvements, or steady performance.
2. Trend Exports – the full historical record
For a detailed record of an individual’s performance history, go to Perf Mgmt > Trend Exports.
Here you can:
-
Select a staff member.
-
Set your date range.
-
Choose specific templates or “Select All”.
Export formats:
-
Separate – Each template (e.g. Teacher Standards, National Occupational Standards) appears on its own tab.
-
Aggregated – All templates combined into a single worksheet.
Why it matters: This is ideal for appraisals, performance reviews, or case studies, where you need to present a complete picture of development over time.
