How to Complete Professional Standards

Your performance review is your chance to shine—and Professional Standards is the tool that helps you do just that. By self-assessing against clear criteria, you can showcase your progress, highlight strengths, and identify areas for growth. The result? A richer, more evidence-based conversation with your reviewer.

Quick Steps

  1. From your homepage, select Prof. Standards
  2. To complete a new form, click Complete A New Standard; click Edit underneath it to edit an existing form.
  3. Complete the content
  4. Save

Need More Detailed Help?

Before a review, many schools ask staff to complete a Professional Standards template. This helps your reviewer understand how you see your own performance. Some schools also set independent self-assessment criteria, even outside of reviews. Either way, the process gives you a structured way to reflect, record, and evidence your professional growth.

  • From your personal dashboard, click Prof Standards.

  • Any required templates will already appear under this tab.

  • If a template hasn’t been started, you’ll see a Get Started Now button. Click it to begin.

  • To complete any other available templates, use the Get Started / Complete A New Standard option on the right-hand side. (The wording changes depending on your previous activity.)

Important: Saving Your Work

Professional Standards does not auto-save.
Because grading is cumulative and affects overall analysis, you must click Save or Save & Exit to ensure your updates are recorded.

After Completion

  • Once saved, your results display on your personal dashboard under Prof Standards.

  • Hover over the speech bubble icons to view any comments linked to your grades.

  • You can return and make edits at any time by clicking Edit.

  • Need a copy? Select Download to export either a blank or completed PDF.

Pro Tip: Add Your Story

While grades are essential, adding written comments transforms your self-assessment into a narrative of progress. This not only shows what your performance looks like but also why it matters—making it far easier for SLT to see patterns, trends, and impact over time.
