Your Personal Dashboard shows you everything in Perspective that is related to you.
The Dashboard will only show you items that you are directly responsible for. If you need to view an item you are not personally responsible for, you will need to use the main Perspective navigation bar.
Your Dashboard may look different from the screenshots below, as some tabs depend on your access levels.
Summary Tab
This tab displays an overview of the items in your dashboard. The items are ordered for the current academic year to keep everything up-to-date. If you need to see anything outside the current academic year date range, you can go into the relevant tabs and apply a broader date range to your search criteria.
The My Inbox section on the right-hand side shows you important notifications about activity in your account.
Depending on your permissions and whether you're responsible for other staff members, you'll have access to helpful information on this tab, including stats for your SEF and Plans and reviewees.
Actions
The Actions tab shows you any actions you are responsible for. These may be standalone, or they may be linked to your Performance Management targets. To open an action, click on its title.
You can quickly edit your actions by clicking Edit or clicking the action title. A pop-up box will appear, allowing you to make quick changes before saving.
You can mark an action as complete in the quick edit box or tick the Complete box alongside it on your dashboard list. Please note that actions marked as complete will be hidden from the list. You can retrieve them via View All Actions and filtering for Completed Actions.
To create a new action, select the New Action button. You can then fill in the details and save them. The action will then appear listed under this tab under other assigned actions.
Targets
This tab shows you any targets you are responsible for. These can be standalone targets, or they may be on your performance review.
You can make quick edits to targets on your dashboard. To do this, click on the Edit button or the target title. A pop-up will then appear, allowing you to edit your target quickly. If you still need to load the full target information, click See Full View.
If the target is greyed out, then it means that it is attached to a performance review that is not yet agreed upon. If this is the case, you will need to check the status of your performance review and speak with your reviewer.
To view a broader range of targets, change the value within the Dates drop-down and click Filter.
Professional Standards
Before a performance review, you are often asked to complete a professional standards template so your reviewer can see how you think you are performing in certain areas. Alternatively, your school may have a set of criteria they wish you to self-assess against, independent of any review.
To complete your professional standards, click Prof Standards from your personal dashboard.
Any template your school has deemed required will be available under this tab by default and ready for you to complete.
If a template is visible but hasn't been started yet, a Get Started Now button will be visible. Click this to begin.
Alternatively, to complete any other templates available to you, use the Get Started/Complete A New Standard option on the right-hand side (this button terminology changes depending on what you've filled in previously).
CPD Needs
This tab shows any CPD Needs added to your performance review.
You can quickly edit the contents of your CPD by clicking on Edit or the CPD title. A box will pop up, allowing you to make changes before saving. You can mark the CPD as complete here or tick the Complete box alongside the CPD on the dashboard list. When you click this, you are prompted to complete an impact statement.
Note: The CPD tab will only be visible if you've been assigned a CPD Need.
Development Feedback
This tab shows you all of the feedback records directly related to you. By default, the list shows records where you have been set as someone providing or giving feedback. However, you can change this by selecting one of the following from the drop-down menu:
- Where I'm being given feedback
- I'm providing feedback for someone else
- My team is giving feedback
- I'm giving feedback to a team
If you view records where you are giving feedback, you can use the Edit option in the side menu to open the record and make changes.
To view an observation, click the three dots and select Download Feedback PDF. You can download the record in the Related Files section if the record contains attachments.
If you have been given feedback and wish to add comments, you can do so by clicking the Comments icon. This will open that record and display the below box, allowing you to add your text feedback for that record.
Once you have added comments, click Save Comments or Back to return to the previous page.
You can also create a new feedback record from your Dev Feedback tab. To do this, click Add New.
If you would like any more information on creating, editing and copying feedback records, you can use this guide.
Reviews
This displays your performance reviews. If you are the reviewer for other staff, you need to use the main Performance Management page to see these.
You can download the PDF version of your review from your Personal Dashboard by clicking on the icon under the Review Statement heading. For the Current Progress/Anonymised Reports to become available, your review has to be Agreed.
Click the PDF icon under the relevant report to download it.
The Reviews tab is where you come to give feedback on your performance review. If your performance review has been submitted for feedback by your reviewer, then the give feedback option will be available for you to select. For more information, see the Responding to a Performance Review guide.
Reviewees
You can only access this tab if you have been set up as a Reviewer. Once you have this permission (granted by the headteacher or SLT), reviewees can be assigned to you. Your reviewees will be listed under this tab so you can quickly view their performance review documents or reassign them to another reviewer.
To add someone as your reviewee (providing they don't already have a reviewer), click Assign. To reassign someone that is assigned to you, click Reassign.
