I'm a reviewer and disagree with what one of my reviewees has put on their Professional Standards. Can I change this?
The purpose of Professional Standards in a Performance Management context in Perspective is to inform you as the reviewer where the reviewee feels they are in relation to the Professional Standards for their role and to provide a launching pad for a productive conversation about someone's professional development.
Only the reviewee can edit their professional standards template, as it is a self-assessment. If this is inaccurate, including it in the performance review dialogue could be valuable.
This is also why Professional Standards are not included in the review PDP or progress report documents, as they don't necessarily represent the reviewer's views.
Following a dialogue with a reviewer, the reviewee can continue to update their Professional Standards to match where they feel they are professionally if this assessment has changed.
