Two-Factor Authentication

Passwords alone are no longer enough to keep accounts secure. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second form of verification whenever you log in.

Even if your password is stolen or guessed, hijackers can’t access your account without this second factor—usually a temporary code sent to your email or an authenticator app.

This simple but powerful security step helps protect against:

  • Phishing attacks

  • Data breaches

  • Unauthorised access

Whether you’re using Perspective Lite, Perspective, or Observatory, the setup process is identical.

Setting up Two-Factor Authentication

  • Navigate to Settings > Account Settings.

  • Scroll down to Two-Factor Authentication.

Step 1: Verify Your Email Address

Before enabling 2FA, you must verify your email:

  • On the account settings page, click Send verification email now.

  • Open the verification link sent to your email.

Please allow a few minutes for delivery, especially during peak times. If you don’t receive it, contact our Support Team.

Return to Perspective and choose whether to complete 2FA setup using your email address or an authenticator app.

Step 2: Choose Your Verification Method

Option A – Use Your Email Address

  • Ensure “Use your registered email address” is selected.

  • (If you haven’t already verified your email, click Send Verification Email first.)

  • Click Send Code.

  • A 6-digit authentication code will be sent to your registered email.

Option B – Use an Authenticator App

  1. Select “Use an authenticator app”.

  2. Download an app such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator on your mobile device.

  3. In Perspective, scan the QR code displayed, or manually enter the 32-character code shown (spacing and casing do not matter).

  4. Your app will generate a one-time code. Enter it into the confirmation box in Perspective.

  5. Click Authenticate.

Your two-factor authentication is now active!
Each time you sign in, open your authenticator app to retrieve the latest code.
