FAQs - Professional Standards

How can I view a Professional Standards template?

SLT members have access to the templates available for staff in school to use to record their Professional Standards.

To view these templates, click Perf Mgmt, and select Edit Templates from the Professional Standards panel. This will list all of the templates you have available in Perspective.

To preview any of these templates, click the three dots and select Preview Template.

How do I create my own Professional Standards template?

The Professional Standards module is designed to be customisable, allowing you to create your own monitoring forms. There are two methods of creating templates:

1) Create a brand new template from scratch.

2) Create a copy of an existing template.

The steps are covered in more detail here.

What does a Required template do?

The Required option makes a template 'required' for the audience it's assigned to. This means it will always be displayed at the top of their list of professional standards and the user is shown some 'call to action' buttons, prompting them to complete it. Required templates also appear at the top of analysis pages inside a staff member's performance review.

Can I edit a Professional Standards template?

Perspective allows SLT to edit your professional standards templates quickly and easily.

The most important thing to know when editing templates is that you should not make significant edits to a template that has already been used by your staff.

To edit a template, click Perf Mgmt, and select Edit Templates from the Professional Standards panel. You can then click Edit next to the template you wish to change. Please note - you cannot edit any of the default Perspective standards templates; you must first make a copy.

The grade set my school uses is not available. Can I create my own grade set?

If your school uses a custom grade scale (OGRI, MSNP etc.) that isn't already built-in to Perspective, our Support Team can add this for you. Send your requested grade scale to perspectivesupport@angelsolutions.co.uk.

How do I complete Professional Standards?

On your Personal Dashboard, click Prof. Standards. Click Complete A New Standard and select a template you would like to complete from the drop-down box and click Get Started

Grade yourself for each statement and write a comment. When you meet with your reviewer, they can see the information you have entered. If you have previously completed that specific template, you will see how your grade has changed.

You can also use the Download PDF dropdown and select Download PDF or Download Blank PDF options to save your standards as a PDF.

How can I view Professional Standards analysis?

The SLT has access to detailed analysis and trends which show your standards data.

You can use the Analysis area to export the raw standards data based on template, date, and user. Or you can use the Trend Exports option to view the standards for a particular staff member over a period of time.

For more information, click here.

Can I set which Professional Standards templates are available?

Any member of the SLT in your Perspective account can switch Professional Standards templates on or off. Click Perf Mgmt, and select Edit Templates from the Professional Standards panel.

Next to each template, you can use the on/off switch to make them available or unavailable.

All Professional Standards templates are switched on by default.
