FAQs - Performance Management Ryan Waters 17 August 2021 07:46 Updated How do I schedule a review? The first stage of the review process is to schedule the PDP meeting. To do this, navigate to the Performance Management Dashboard, via Perf Mgmt > Performance Mgmt. Next, click the Start section. The Start section contains a list of all reviewers that have a scheduled PDP, or where their PDP is yet to be scheduled. If you cannot see a staff member in the Start section, they may not be assigned to you as a reviewee. Please refer to the Setting Reviewers and Assigning Reviewees guide for more information. To schedule the review for a specific date and time, click Schedule. To schedule it for the current date and time, click Meet. For more information on scheduling the review as a whole, please see the Running a Review help guide. How do I create a whole school target? To create a whole school target, as long as you are a member of the SLT or a Performance Management Moderator, navigate to Perf Mgmt > Performance Mgmt and click on Whole School Target. Fill in the target details and click Add Target. This target will then be assigned to the Appraisal team, which will be created automatically and include all staff if it doesn't exist already. See this guide for more information. How do I locate a whole school target? Whole school targets are located on the Planning page, along with all other targets. They can be viewed by selecting All Targets and then filtering for targets associated with the Appraisal Team. How do I assign a new user to a reviewer? To assign a new user to a reviewer within Performance Management, click on Perf. Mgmt (located on the main taskbar) and then Performance Mgmt. Click on the Assign button. Select the reviewer from the drop-down menu and click Assign Reviewees. You will then be able to select the reviewee by clicking the checkbox next to their name. Once you have selected the reviewee click Add Selected. If you cannot see a reviewer or reviewee in either of those lists, click here. How do I respond to my Performance Management review? On the Homepage (My Dashboard) click on Reviews. You will then see a list of your personal reviews. Find the review that you want to respond to and then click Give Feedback. Download your report, type in your written feedback, and then click either Accurate or Inaccurate. For more information, click here. My appraisal targets aren't accessible If your appraisal targets are not accessible via the Targets tab on your homepage, then your review may not be active yet. The review is only made active once the initial PDP has been set up and activated by the reviewer, or sent to the reviewee and marked accurate. To check the status of your review, click the Reviews tab on the homepage dashboard. If your review is not Active, please speak to your reviewer. What are the differences between the agreed and the progress PDP reports? The agreed report saves a copy of the PDP at the point it has been set by the reviewer and agreed by the reviewee. The progress report will include any updates that have been made to the PDP through the year, such as target updates, new CPD, interim reviews etc. These reports give you a view of the PDP as a whole and also show see what was agreed upon at the start of the year, in comparison to your current progress. Can I add links to documents instead of uploading documents as evidence? You can add, edit and delete Evidence from within the Other Evidence tab within the PDP at any time throughout the year. Instead of uploading documents, links (eg a google docs or Dropbox link) can be added to the written evidence box. How do I add an Interim Review? Perspective allows both the reviewer and reviewee to add interim notes to a performance review, at any point throughout the year. These reviews can be anything from the minutes of a mid-year review meeting or maybe just notes about a conversation you had in the hall. For more information please click here. How do I recall a review? If a review has been closed or submitted for feedback, but you still need to make changes, you can recall it at any time. The full process is explained in this guide. Please note: Only the reviewer can recall a review. Why was I unable to provide feedback on my review? By default, unless your Head Teacher has switched this option off, your reviewer can skip the feedback stage and move the review directly into Active or Closed. If your review is Active or Closed and you feel that you need to provide feedback, please contact your reviewer. How do I update my personal targets? On the Homepage (My Dashboard) click on the Targets tab. You will then see a list of your personal targets. Click the name of the target you want to update to open it. How do I add a user to the Appraisal team? If a whole school target is not showing for a reviewee, they may not have been added to the Appraisal team. You can do this by going to Settings > Manage Teams > Appraisal Team. How do I reassign a user to another reviewer? The Head Teacher, a performance management moderator or the reviewer can reassign a reviewee by navigating to the Performance Management page and locating the user, before clicking the Reassign button alongside the review. How do I add a new CPD to my PDP throughout the year? You can add a new CPD need from your dashboard by clicking the Reviews tab.As long as your review is active, the View button will be available to you, so click this to open the review.To add a new CPD need, click on the CPD Needs tab and then New CPD Need. For more information about updating a PDP throughout the year, please see this help guide. When are pay notes added to a PDP? As you approach the end of the academic year, you will need to review and close the appraisal cycle for your reviewees. This is referred to as 'Closing'. During this, the Pay Notes section is your opportunity to make any pay recommendations, taking into consideration your school's pay policy. You can enter their current pay point, whether you recommend them for pay progression, and any notes to support your decision. A PDP has closed after an interim review was added and submitted for feedback, why? When adding an Interim Review you do not need to click Submit for Feedback, as long as you clicked on Save & Add to Review, your comments are stored. You can reactivate a closed review by navigating to the Performance Management Dashboard and clicking on the Closed heading. Locate the reviewee and click on the Reset button alongside the review. Then locate the reviewee within the Draft section, select their name and use the skip/submit for feedback to activate the PDP again. For more advice about Interim Reviews please click here.
