Development Feedback Analysis

The Development Feedback module allows you to view the analysis of all feedback for individuals and teams. The analysis will enable you to create targeted development strategies that address specific areas of concern and leverage staff strengths.

Additionally, analysis of development feedback can help to identify trends and patterns over time, allowing you to track progress and adjust plans accordingly.

Only SLT members can access feedback analysis, and only Finalised records appear in your analysis.

Quick Steps

  1. Navigate to Perf Mgmt.
  2. Click Analysis within the Development Feedback Panel.
  3. Make use of the filters and click Show Analysis.
  4. To view your observations data in more detail, click the Export Data button and then select Export Data again from the resulting prompt.

Using the Analysis Filters and Options

The Analysis page contains a variety of search filters, allowing you to locate the feedback data you require. Once you have used the filters, you can analyse the information more deeply.

If you try to filter for something that doesn’t have any data (for example, a template which has
never been used), you will be shown the following message:

To start analysing the latest feedback data, you first need to return some valid results. To do this:

  1. Decide whether to view the analysis for individuals or teams and click the appropriate tab.
  2. Select the analysis status. This can either be by a user or by a statement.

User analysis shows the data for each user for the selected template. Each row will contain a staff member's name and the percentage breakdown of statements for that template.

Statement analysis shows you the breakdown of statements on the selected template and, when expanded, the name of the staff member to whom the grades are attributed.

      3. Select the relevant template from the Type of feedback drop-down menu.

      4. If required, select specific statement answers. This is useful if you only want to return data for staff              with a grade of Requires Improvement, for example.

      5. Use the Data as of option to determine how up-to-date you want the results to be. The system will            return the analysis of the most recent record according to the date you select in this field.

      6. If required, select specific staff from the Feedback for and Feedback From fields.

      7. Use the More Filters option if you wish to filter on things like Focus, or Lesson.

When you have selected all required filters, click Apply. Perspective will then load the analysis underneath.

You can use the toggles above the data to show or hide the legend. You can also switch between percentages or counts, depending on how you want to present your data.

You can view your feedback data in more detail by exporting it directly from the system. To do this, click the Export button and then select the type of export you require (Excel, Image or PDF).

Trend Exports

Perspective also allows you to view the feedback data recorded over time for a specific staff member or team. This information is beneficial as it can show staff progression and how a person/team performs over an extended period of time.

To access the Trends Exports page, navigate to Perf Mgmt and click the Trend Exports option within the  Feedback Analysis panel.

The difference between this page and the Analysis page is that rather than searching for data from the whole account, we can now search for a specific individual or team.

If you want to view the trends for an individual, make sure the Individual option is selected, then choose the relevant staff member from the Feedback For drop-down menu.

If you wish to download the analysis for a team, select the Team option at the top of the filters, then choose the team from the Feedback For drop-down.

If necessary, select a date range using the Dates menu. You can add custom dates by clicking the calendar icons underneath this option.

Choose one or more of the observation templates you wish to view trends for using the Templates option.

Select whether you want to include the Statement Comments or not.

When ready. choose to export the data in Separate Templates or Aggregated Templates. The definitions for each of these options are displayed just below them.

When you select an output, the file will download to your PC. This may take a few minutes, depending on the amount of information in the file.
